I would like to request that the link to Plugins is moved from the first page of moodle.org to the top menu.
The arguments are varied, but I think that essentially this is one of the things that Moodle users care about and actually use Moodle for, this is one of our unique selling points : that anyone can create an integration, and thus many integrations exist. Moodle allows for a best-in-breed approach to your LMS, as opposed to "Canvas has acquired this specific video solution (or whatever) and there you go with it like it or not".
The second argument would be how many people actually go and click on the item as a measure of its relevance for the users. Currently, the attraction of each item in the top menu based on the visualizations last month (April 2024) is:
- Forums : 108 K
- Documentation : 2 060 K
- Demo : 21 K
- Plugins : 538 K
I don't have data on the following, but I guess that at the very least Development and Translation will be much lower than Plugins.
- Download : data doesn't seem reliable (too small)
- Tracker : not configured in Analytics / no access
- Development : not configured in Analytics / no access
- Translation : not configured in Analytics / no access
Tagging stakeholders dan.lehner@moodle.com , olga.koenig@moodle.com and jgramp-moodle.
Thanks, Carles
