MOODLE_405_STABLE
Hello Awesome Moodle team,
When a user goes to a bad/outdated link, the 405 error page links them to "More information about this error" http://docs.moodle.org/405/en_us/error/moodle/invalidrecord
This causes support issues when overwhelmed students without the tech comfort can't get back on track. When I had my own install, I customized the language file to show text directing students back to the 'my courses' page to work around this front-end-user-experience challenge, and hid the doc.moodle link with a period below the instructional text.
For the next year or so, I am using Moodle cloud and do not have access to customize the language file strings. What is the best practice or is a new 404-like page available to activate? If this is intended behavior, I think it would be a better user experience to remove links sending students to advanced Moodle and Cron info.
In this example, this course number no longer exists and I want everyone with the link to be invited back to the home or 'my courses' page.
This was my previous solution when I had access to the language strings:
