MOODLE_405_STABLE
Was upgradenotes.mjs tested on Windows? I just tried using it for the first time and hit these problems:
- For Type of change, I wanted 'change' so I pressed down arrow twice, and then Enter, but it still set it to 'deprecated' the top choice.
- For Message, I wanted to use the editor so I just presse enter becuase it said "(leave empty to use editor)" but just got re-prompted, with "You must provide a message" (Git CLI has no problem using a editor for the commit comment.)
- (This one is not Windows) Most significantly, I was doing this for the first time for
MDL-79546, where the change affects the 'quiz' (Quiz report) plugin type, so previously the note was in mod/quiz/report/upgrade.txt. So, for Component, I tried to enter quiz, and it got chagned to mod_quiz. (Yes, that is a stupid frankenstyle prefix for this plugin type. Mistake made 10+ years ago by Petr when frankenstyle was introduced.) Anyway, upgrade notes for a partiuclar plugin type (mod, qtype, ...) is the most useful sort, so that needs to be supported.
I guess I will now edit this yaml file by hand.
Hope this report is useful.
(Also, should we have a tracker component for developer tooling?)
