Activity dates have different options and name depending on the activity. The current date settings are also called differently in each activity, and some activities or resources don't have Open and Due dates but have Completion date, which adds another layer of complexity to how dates are used in our current system.

We have four different date settings depending on the activity:

• Open date
• Due date
• Cut-off date
• Expected completed on date
• Remind me to grade by date

The idea is to make all date settings consistent across all activities and resources and course settings, unifying the terms we use into a more coherent wording that encompasses all the different date options we provide.

Research should be conducted in order to understand how dates are used and what are the current pain points and user needs.
