Per a discussion with Eloy in MDLSITE-593, I suggested that it might be helpful to gather usage stats from registered sites. Currently we grab:
Courses: 26
Users: 458
Role assignments: 533
Teachers: 17
Posts: 421
Questions: 908
Resources: 213
But it would be good to gather information such as:
Installation information like the OS, webserver and version, database and version, and PHP version
modules (which ones and number of instances)
blocks (which ones and number of instances)
filters (which ones installed, which ones active)
course formats (which ones installed and how many courses are using it)
themes (which ones installed)
langs (which ones installed)
question types (which ones installed, how many questions of that type)
At this point, I am wondering if we should require submitting even the minimal stats that we have as part of the registration process. An option to submit or not submit stats would be nice. I think we should continue showing the user what statistical data is being submitted.
