Based on chats with Eloy, I think it would be good to have a cron job that would execute the stats.php file to make publicly available to the community especially those working with CONTRIB as they may wish to see how popular their particular block/module is. By doing a 24 hour cron generation it would give a good idea of the statistics and allow us to share a link like http://download.moodle.org/stats.html with the larger community without worrying about overloading the server from having to regenerate this information all the time. If we wanted, we could use htaccess or some other means to prevent direct access to the stats.php or perhaps make it a link on the moodle.org page. I'm not sure what type of load it creates on the server and how popular the page would be but I'll let Eloy figure out whether it is worth doing or not. Peace - Anthony
