The issue:
All the ‘strings in footer’ links clutter the interface, even when translators don’t need them. It is also confusing, because some of the links contain images, so these then appear twice on the page, making it difficult to tell what is actual page content and what are the strings in footer.
What we want:
We would like to hide the list of text able to be translated (when ‘Show strings in footer’ in the Translation plugin settings is enabled) in a drop-down ‘Translate other text’ div.
‘Translate other text ▽’ (will show at the bottom of each page - including quiz and admin pages - when you enable ‘Show strings in footer’ in the Translation plugin settings).
- This area should be closed/hidden by default.
- When you click ‘Translate other text ▽’ all the strings that can be translated are listed at the bottom of the page, underneath this drop down menu item.
- When you click it again, they are hidden again.
For example:
Translate other text ▽
- Announcements
- How this course works
- Self assessment check-in - Assessment
….
This will hide all these links until they are needed, making the interface much cleaner for translators.
