Using a Moodle with master branch, as admin configure to use " Site " as defaulthomepage Leave Site Home empty (no modules and no description, go to Edit settings>Common module settings for each module). Login in the app and check that you're redirected to "My Courses". Now in Moodle web add a module or set a description in Site Home. Login in the app again and check that now Site Home is loaded. Please notice that this check uses cache, so you might have to wait 5 minutes (you can delete the site and add it again to skip the cache).
