As suggested by Jess and Martin, we could add some context to the stats on the front page.

Jess suggests a heading to indicate what it's referring to and perhaps some extra info as title (hover) text on the graphics.
I am unsure about a heading as this may add further spacing in an area that's already requiring more scrolling that it could (but we need to keep the padding to comply with branding style). But if it can be added without additional white spacing, it'd be great.

The hover text would be very useful to add context. We can mention these are registered only, and use it as an opportunity to encourage people to register.  

Also, it should link to stats.moodle.org.
