With the unification of the pull process and the mdl issues, the number of mails received from Jira has grown a lot.
And there is no way to separate them using filters. That is leading to noticeable organization problems, at least here, where I get a lot of mails mixed no matter which is my role on them.
So, after some chat @ HQ, this is one proposal to add some extra contents to jira generated mails, it's one supported customization option, and some info is available at:
- http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA043/Adding+Custom+Fields+to+Email
The proposal consists into adding this extra content (when available):
1) All the roles in the issue (reporter, assignee, integrator, tester, peer reviewer..).
2) The contents of the "currently in integration" custom field (only if "yes").
3) The current status of the field "on development, tested, closed...)
I'm not sure if all that information can go to mail x-headers (I think it's not officially supported), but for sure can be done as part of the mail content.
That would enable better organization client-side, so my +1 for that.
