Setup

1. As admin go to Site Administration > Plugins > Filters > Manage filters and ensure that "Glossary auto-linking" is set to "On".
2. Go to the "Front page" and turn editing mode on.
3. Add a glossary activity, ensure that "Is this glossary global?" setting is checked.
4. Add two glossary entries similar to the following:
   • Concept Name as "Linked entry" and check "This entry should be automatically linked" under "Auto-linking"
   • Concept Name as "Normal entry"

Testing

1. For each of the following areas, set the text to something like "This is a Linked entry example. This is the Normal entry example." and check that the concept words and phrases are linked or not linked as appropriate:
   • Front page context
   • Course category description context
   • Course context (Text and media area)
   • Course summary page
   • Block context (text block)
   • Resource page context (content)
   • Activity context "assignment" - description
   • Resource context "folder" - description
   • Resource context "URL" - description
   • Database activity - description (check list view & add view)
   • Wiki page view
   • Quiz
   • Survey
   • Workshop
   • Forum message
   • Choice description
2. Go to front page and add Random glossary entry block
3. Configure Random glossary entry block and make sure you can see created glossary name in "Take entries from this glossary"
4. Save changes to configuration with "Take entries from this glossary" as global glossary.
5. Check Random glossary block and make sure you can see entries.
