Not sure if this is a permissions issue (if so, please delete bug) or a legitamate bug.

When viewing the homepage as a guest or administrator, the site news is visible on the homepage.

When logged in as student all news disspears and it says i do not have permission to view.

Why could a guest see it but not a student?

If this is a roles issue, should it not be the default setting that homepage news is visible to all when logged in?
