We have noticed that when searching for courses in Moodle, if the course name contains an accent or diacritical mark and these are not included in the search query, the course does not appear in the results.

For developers or users with a high technical profile, this is not a significant issue. However, for users with a medium or low technical profile, it causes problems as they cannot find the courses they need.

It would be helpful if the search functionality could ignore all types of accents and diacritical marks, not just case sensitivity, to improve the search results.
