Setup

Log in as admin

Go to Site admin -> General -> AI -> AI providers

Click 'Create a new provider instance'

Choose 'OpenAI API provider' and fill out all other required values (reach out if you need credentials)

Ensure 'Summarise text' and 'Explain text' actions are enabled on the provider

Ensure your new AI provider is enabled too

Go to Site admin -> General -> AI -> AI placements

Enable 'Course assistance placement'

Create a course

Add a 'Page' resource and add anything you like as the content.

Testing 1 (Dropdown)

Navigate to the course

View the page and click Summarise from the AI features actions.

Once the AI drawer opens, press the TAB key on your keyboard.

VERIFY that the close button in the AI drawer is focused.

Press Enter on your keyboard.

VERIFY that the AI drawer closed and the AI features actions is focused.

While the AI features action is focused, press the down arrow and select Explain, then press Enter on your keyboard.

Once the AI drawer opens, press the TAB key on your keyboard.

VERIFY that the close button in the AI drawer is focused.

Press the SHIFT+TAB combination keys.

VERIFY that the AI drawer remains open and the AI features actions is focused.

Testing 2 (Single button)

Go to Site admin -> General -> AI -> AI Placements

Click settings on the Course assistance placement

Disabled the Explain text action

Navigate to the course

View the page and click Summarise button.

Once the AI drawer opens, press the TAB key on your keyboard.

VERIFY that the close button in the AI drawer is focused.

Press Enter on your keyboard.

VERIFY that the AI drawer closed and the Summarise button is focused.

Again, press Enter on your keyboard.

VERIFY that the close button in the AI drawer is focused.

Press the SHIFT+TAB combination keys.

VERIFY that the AI drawer remains open and the Summarise button is focused.

As raised in the audit:

When the user clicks the Summarise" button, the AI summary opens, but this content is not adjacent to the trigger, forcing the user to tab through additional content to access it.

Similar to when toggling the messaging drawer, clicking on Summarise/Explain must move the focus to the AI drawer.
The focus must return to the Summarise/Explain button when the drawer is closed.
