Currently S3 repo plugin does not support version 4 authentication headers (AWS4-HMAC-SHA256 headers) when making calls to AWS S3 API. This makes the plugin not operational in the AWS regions not supporting version 2 headers.

All regions deployed since 2014 do not support v2 headers any more, according to AWS
