This is an informational item regarding digital accessibility in the United States.

On April 24, 2024, the Department of Justice officially ruled that institutions under their purview must follow WCAG 2.1 AA (Link: https://www.ada.gov/resources/2024-03-08-web-rule/) and have either 2 or 3 years to comply depending on municipality population size. It applies to web and mobile apps. Please note that many of the institutions were already supposed to be doing this (such as institutions of higher education), however, this ruling also removed exclusions such as third party vendors/contractors were exempt from this, meaning that anyone doing work for an institution needing to follow this ruling must also abide by WCAG 2.1 AA.

This is simply an information only notification.
