CLOZE type questions not displayed correctly

      After the upgrade to 4.4+ ALL my quizzes having CLOZE type (SHORTANSWER) questions  started to display each gap to be filled in by the student in a new line. So if there are gaps within a short piece of text, it doesn't look like a text, but more like a list, which is very inconvenient. Image attached. MULTICHOICE type seems to be ok. Is it only my case?
