Before (at least site 3.8) when you log in on the app using a user (studentjuan) that is part of a group (or several) on browser the participants' list is filtered for those groups (you can delete those filters manually) while on the app you see all the participants.

Currently (at least site 4.3 and 4.4) when you log in on the app using a user (u4) that is part of a group (or several) on browser the participants' list is filtered for those groups (you can delete those filters manually) while on the app you see only the filtered list.

 Just to comment that it works in the same way independently if it is the current app from store (4.3app) than the dev version of the app (4.4.dev)
