I am proposing a separate rating system where students can 'like' (via heart, thumbs up or star) each others posts. I feel this is such a valuable tool for increasing engagement that it should run separate to the gradebook, as a teacher may need the option for formative grading while the 'like' system is a very casual summative system.

      How this would work:

Admin turns on permissions for students to 'like' each others posts in the Settings. Decides if students should receive notifications.

In Templates the Admin adds ##like## to wherever they want the symbol to appear

During the run of the activity students can 'like' one another's posts

They can click the count number next to the symbol to see who liked their posts. This can be anonymised in the permissions.

      Notes:

      Use Font-Awesome symbols

There's a separate ticket here on creating a user subscription for Database posts currently, and this could be implemented alongside that. For this to work, the student should be able to opt in/out to a notification of someone liking their work.
