Setting Discussions per page (forum_manydiscussions) has no effect

      1. Log in as admin
      2. Create a course
      3. Navigate to course Announcements forum
      4. Create 10 new discussion topics
      5. Confirm all are shown
      6. Navigate to Plugins > Activity modules > Forum in site administration
        • Set Discussions per page to 5
      7. Navigate back to course announcements forum
      8. Confirm only 5 discussions are shown, and you can use the paging control to browse them
      9. Navigate back to page 1 of the paging control
      10. Modify the URL, to set the following parameter: 

        &s=3

      11. Confirm only 3 discussions are shown
      12. Press page 2 of the paging control
      13. Confirm the next 3 discussions are shown

      Hey everyone,

      first time, trying to report a bug, hoping this helps, as Helen could reproduce it in the community forum:

      Fact: I'm trying to adjust a Moodle forum to show only 10 discussions per page by changing the "forum_manydiscussions" setting from the default 100 to 10. However, this adjustment doesn't seem to take effect.

      Bug: On Moodle version 4.3.3, with the forum set to "Standard forum displayed in a blog-like format," the "forum_manydiscussions" setting change to limit discussions per page to 10 does not apply, maintaining the default of 100 discussions per page.
