Proposal:
The quiz setting “Require the use of Safe Exam Browser” should be possible to override for specific users/groups.
It can be overridden to the following options:
- “No”
- "Yes - Configure manually"
- “Yes - Use an existing template”
- "Yes - Use SEB client config"
e.g. When “Yes - Use an existing template” is selected, a Teacher is able to choose from all enabled SEB templates.
The Moodle administrator can deactivate the override to the options “No” or “Yes - Use an existing template” separately in order to make sure that an override to both, only one or none of the options is possible on the Moodle system.
Reason:
Such an option reassures the examiners in a BYOD scenario enormously, as they know that there is a simple problem solution in an emergency so that every student can write the exam without SEB or with a SEB in a different, less invasive configuration. Today, all or none of the students have use SEB. This leads to lecturers conducting the exam without SEB in case of doubt.
