This is pretty much covered by unit tests, but to manually test, you can try this out:
- Create at least one course and enrol a student in the created course(s).
- Download and apply the test patch: 80201_test.patch

cd /path/to/your/moodle/instance
git apply /path/to/80201_test.patch
- Login as the student and go to "My courses".
- Confirm that the "My courses" page loads okay and does not show any errors.
