Create a user

Create a course

Enrol user as student in course

Navigate to course gradebook

Select Overview report

Use Select a user to choose test user

Confirm you see the Message and Add to contact buttons next to their name

Navigate to Advanced features in site administration

Unselect Enable messaging system and save

Re-visit the grades overview report for test user

Confirm you do not see the Message and Add to contact buttons next to their name

At a site I've disabled the chat function function.

However, if I go to the grades Overview report the chat and contactbook item are still next to the name of the user.

If I click on chat nothing happens. If i click on "add to contacts" I'm getting a modal with an error code.
