This is a re-upload of an old issue MDL-62662 (which seems to no longer be active) because it also affects the current versions as well. I assume the fix that was posted in that issue was not accepted since it was for an earlier version of LTI that is now deprecated (LTI v1.1-1.2). This issue still affects LTI Advantage and the most recent Moodle version.

My team was looking for a way to automatically add a new LTI user to a specified existing group, or create a new one. This way you could easily tell apart "core" students from the LTI-students and user f.ex. separate groups option and easily tell them apart on the Moodle reports.

      My repository URL is https://github.com/ryanjbudhu/moodle

The most recent commit to the MDL-79696_enrol_lti_group branch in that repo will fix this issue.

      The diff URL is https://github.com/moodle/moodle/compare/master...ryanjbudhu:moodle:MDL-79696-enrol_lti_group

Let me know if this should just be posted to the old issue. I want to make sure it is known this is an improvement for the latest LTI Advantage version.
