Prerequisites:
- The system needs PHP version 8.2
Test Authentication External database
- Login as admin
- Navigate to the Site administration > Plugins > Manage Authentication page
- Enable the External database plugin
- Click the External Database settings
- Specify all needed input in the settings:
- Host
- Database
- DB name
- DB User
- Password
- Table = externaldb
- Username field = username_field
- Password field = pass_field - Save changes
- Execute SQL files externaldb.sql
to your external database - Return to the Manage Authentication page
- Click the External Database Test settings
- Verify that you do not see any dynamic properties error message, and ensure all table fields in the external table are visible in the green box.
Test Course Enrolment External database
- Login as admin
- Navigate to the Site administration > Plugins > Manage enrol plugins page
- Enable the External database plugin
- Click the External Database settings
- Specify all needed input in the settings:
- Database driver
- Database host
- Database user
- Database password
- Database name
- Remote user enrolment table = remoteenroltable
- Remote new courses table = newcoursetable - Save changes
- Execute SQL files remoteenroltable.sql and newcoursetable.sql to your external database
- Return to the Manage enrol plugins page
- Click the External Database Test settings
- Verify that you do not see any dynamic properties error message, and ensure all table fields in the external table are visible in the green box.
