With Moodle 4.1 the editing button is back at the top (very popular with our course administrators), however one suggestion would be that when it's clicked the location on the page would be remembered.

That could be just via the section in the url or another way possibly.

At the moment if a section is in the url, then once editing is on, that section is not remembered (not sure if this is a bug really). 

Currently id the url is: /course/view.php?id=2079#section-7

When you click edit, it refreshes as /course/view.php?id=2079
