• Log in as admin
• Go to Site Administration > Plugins > Question bank plugins > Question custom fields
• Click "Add a new category" to create a category.
• Click Add a new custom field > Checkbox
• Set "Name" to "Yes/No" and shortname to "yesno", and click "Save changes"
• Go to a course and access the question bank
• Click Create a new question > True/False
• Enter a question name and question text.
• Expand the "Other field" fieldset and check the "Yes/No" checkbox
• Click "Save changes"
• Back on the question bank page, select the "Edit" menu for the question, and click "Export as Moodle XML"
• An XML file should be downloaded
• Open the file and confirm it contains the following XML structure within the <question> tag:
  <qbank>
    <customfields>
      <yesno>
        <value><text>1</text></value>
        <valueformat><text>0</text></value>
      </yesno>
    </customfields>
  </qbank>
• Back on the question bank page, select "Import" in the tertiary navigation.
• Set "File format" to "Moodle XML format"
• Upload the file you just downloaded and click "Import"
• You should see the message "Importing 1 questions from file"
• You should not see any errors
• Click "Continue"
• You should now see 2 copies of the question. Confirm that both copies show "Yes" in the "Yes/No" column.
