Log in as admin Create a course and enrol 3 students in it Go to the grades tab Go to the Gradebook setup Create a grade category (name it 'Cat 1') and 2 grade items (name them 'Manual Item 1' and 'Manual Item 2') within that category Go to the grader report Turn on the editing mode if it is not already enabled Click on the input box for one of the grades Type 5 and then press Enter Verify that the form is submitted and the grade is saved Open the context menu of the 'Cat 1 total' for one of the students and lock it Verify that the cell is locked Open the context menu of the 'Cat 1 total' and select 'Lock' Verify that the whole column is locked Verify that a lock icon is displayed for the column Verify that there is no lock icon on the 'Cat 1' header cell. Open the context menu of the 'Cat 1 total' and select 'Unlock' Verify that the whole column is unlocked except for the student you had locked previously at step 11 Open the context menu of the 'Cat 1' and select 'Lock' Verify that the 'Cat 1', 'Grade Item 1', 'Grade Item 2' and 'Cat 1 total' are all locked Verify that a lock icon is displayed for the columns that are locked, including on the 'Cat 1' header cell Open the context menu of the 'Cat 1' and select 'Unlock' Verify that the 'Cat 1', 'Grade Item 1', 'Grade Item 2' and 'Cat 1 total' are all unlocked, except the 'Cat 1 total' grade for the student you locked at step 11 Once again, open the context menu of the 'Cat 1' and select 'Lock' Open the context menu of 'Grade Item 1' column and unlock it Verify that there is no lock icon on the 'Cat 1' header cell. Open the context menu of 'Grade Item 1' column and lock it Verify that there a lock icon is displayed on the 'Cat 1' header cell.
