When on the gradebook setup page, if you select one or more grade items and then select a category from the Move selected items to dropdown, the page reloads to make the change, which triggers the beforeunload Javascript added in lib/form/amd/src/changechecker.js and displays a warning to users about leaving the site and changes not being saved. This behavior is confusing to faculty, as they think they have made a mistake and their gradebook changes will not be saved, when in fact they are saved.
Here is a video demonstrating: https://youtu.be/o2G1zW6rgLs
For these types of forms in Moodle, where the form is auto submitted on the selection of a dropdown menu, would it be possible to skip this event? Thank you!
