Login as admin.

Go to "Site administration > Appearance > Themes > Theme selector".

Check the image displayed in the "Default" row has changed and now displays a Moodle 4.0 screenshot (for instance, the course index appears on the left).

Click the "Change theme" button.

Check the images for Boost and Classic themes are new (for instance, they now show a flower compared to the previous ones).
