The LaTex expression [m<0] gets rendered as m

If the expression is written as  [m < 0] with additional spaces around the <, it gets rendered correctly.

The problem does not exist on Moodle 3.8 and does not seem to have occurred on Moodle 3.9, but I do not have an installation running 3.9 to verify.
