      Hi

We upgraded a client site from Moodle 3.7.x to 3.9.3, using standard Boost Theme.

Client reported that Global Search now does not work for Students, but does work for Administrators. I logged in as an Administrator, and confirmed the Global Search works. I logged in as a Student, and confirmed Global Search does not work - no results are returned.

The search indexing and cron I think are working OK (scheduled task looks good), so I thought this might be a permissions issue.

However, I've verified that the following (Authenticated user, Authenticated user on Front Page, and Student) all have "moodle/search:query" permissions allowed, which they do (and this setting has not changed from before the upgrade from 3.7.x).

We can provide an admin login for investigation if this would help?

      Thanks, Stuart.
