With the coming of Moodle 3.7 with metadata for Courses (see MDL-57898) and a Custom Fields API (https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Custom_fields_API),

I would like to request that Moodle consider extending the Custom Fields Date plugin.

Presumably this would be added to the epic MDL-64626

      More info:

I cannot speak for all Moodle users, but one of the things I am excited to be able to store in my courses is their unique dates beyond the start and end date.  Our intent is to be able to pass these values in through webservices, which it looks like Moodle HQ has already made provisions for.

Some of the fields I am looking forward to being able include with a course

      Semester [text]

      Session [text]

      Location (Building/Room) [text]

      Class Meetings (Times/Days) [textarea]

Last Day for Full Refund [date]

Last Day for First Refund [date]

Last Day for Second Refund [date]

      Mid-Term [date]

Last Day to Withdraw with "W" [date]

      Final Exam [date]

As you can see most of the items I plan to place there are date based items.  We would like to request that when a custom fields date field has new or updated data placed in it, that whatever this date is can be automatically created/updated/deleted from the course calendar.

      Thanks for the consideration

      Scott
