The idea was implementing OIDC into the moodle core, on top of Oauth2 code.

So far we(Team of Swiss universities) made a simple authentication plugin to work with this OIDC specification, and it works actually really well.

Now the progress is to implement the oidc into the core code itself, maybe as one of the oauth2 service.
