Login as an admin In Site administration > Advanced features, enable Portfolios. Go to Site administration > Plugins > Portfolios > Manage portfolios and make the File download portfolio enabled and visible. Create an assignment that accepts online text submissions. Log in as a student (say s1) and create a submission for the assignment which contains less than 140 characters of text. Log in as another student (say s2) and create a submission for the assignment which contains at least 200 characters of text. Log in as a teacher for that course and go the "View all submissions" page of the assignment. Check s1's online text submission. Confirm that it shows the full text of the online text submission AND the Export to portfolio link. Confirm that the word count is not being displayed. Check s2's online text submission. Confirm that it shows the truncated text of the online text submission AND the Export to portfolio link. Confirm that the word count is being displayed.
