MOODLE_31_STABLE
If ‘Recover grades default | recovergradesdefault’ is checked in the admin settings, when a user is enrolled in a course any External Tool activities suddenly appear in the Gradebook even when they are not set to receive grades from the tool.
We have noticed this recently in our 3.1.5 Moodle and it also happens in my MoodleCloud site, which I understand is running 3.2. Our hosting partner has narrowed the issue down to the recovergradesdefault setting.
To test
--------
- Make sure recovergradesdefault is checked
- Create an external tool activity in a course
- Give the activity a name
- Uncheck ‘Accept grades from the tool’
- Hit ‘Save and return to course’
- Open Gradebook setup
- Check to confirm the activity does not appear in grades.
- Go to the enrolled users page and enroll a user
- Return to the Gradebook setup
Expected result: The activity still does not display in the gradebook setup, but it does. In our 3.1 moodle it is showing with a 100 max grade.
- Go back to the activities edit settings page
- Hit ‘Save and return to course’ without making any changes
- Open Gradebook setup
- Check to confirm the activity does not appear in grades. Activity has now been removed from the gradebook.
