Test in each browser: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, IE11, IE Edge (Ping Jake if you need access to the testing accounts on Browserstack!)

Create a chat activity in a course, access the chat activity and type "beep all". Verify you hear a beep.

Change the admin setting "chat method" from ajax to normal. Repeat the test in one browser of your choice.

Setup the chat daemon and change the admin setting "chat method" to chat daemon. Repeat the test in one browser of your choice.

As observed by participants in the recent Learn Moodle MOOC, the chat beep no longer makes a sound on the receiver's computer.
