Do we have an option in moodle 2.6 to send email to user automatically after he was manually enrolled into course?

User profile notification settings suggest that we can do this. But here:

people say that there is no such an option.

Finally it seems to me that this is impossible. My users do not get any emails. Can you confirm plz?
If you can't confirm for moodle 2.6 beacuse it is too old. Confirm for 2.7 plz.
