We have very slow page loads for courses/message/index.php?viewing=recentconversations which will pull up the recent conversations screen.

For a teachers with a high number of messages, that screen consistently pegs the mysqld process at 100% and takes upwards of a minute to load, even after repeated page refreshes. Caching never seems to improve the page performance.

We have performed a number of steps to troubleshoot, including enabling debug while loading the page (log file attached), rebuilding the individual messages tables in the database, dropping and reloading the entire database, and restarting mysql.

Server is running cPanel with a Mysql 5.5 build.
