Currently, when sending a message using the message interface, you are always returned to Users page afterwards. There are a number of contributed plugins that use the messaging interface to send out messages to a list of users. There are a number of other potential applications within core Moodle, such as

• sending a message to a list of users at risk of failing,
• sending a message to students who have not submitted their assignment or
• sending a message to students who have not viewed their assignment feedback.

It would be useful if the messaging interface could be give a return point that the user could be sent to after sending their message.
