See MDL-50389. If you have many media players on one page, then browsers can't cope.

The media player should be intelligent, and if there are many players on the page, it should only initialise the 10 or so nearest the top of the page immediately. Then the others should initialise later. That could be after the first ones have finished setting themselves up, or it could be after a fixed delay, or when the user scrolls down.
