MOODLE_27_STABLE, MOODLE_28_STABLE
Our institution was recently analysing the utilisation of each feedback plugin and were surprised by how little was logged around assignment feedback. We found that it was impossible to ascertain whether a feedback document had been uploaded through the grading form, or using the offline plugin (including looking at the files table).
Steps to replicate:
- Create an assignment
- Submit into assignment as two different students
- Select 'Download all submission files' from the Grading actions menu (note that this event is logged)
- Make changes to submission files in .zip package
- Select 'Upload multiple feedback files in a zip' from the Grading actions menu (note that this and the next steps are not logged)
- Upload the altered feedback files in a zip
- Return the feedback files
There are also other inconsistencies such as comments being logged as a student and in the assignment submission table, but not being logged through the student grading form.
It'd be great if the following events could be created:
- when returning files using the offline plugin. Ideally this would log the number of files returned / the number of users affected
- feedback comments are added
- annotations made through EditPDF
