I am using workshop in a high school setting so that I can use the self- and peer-evaluation features. But I am attempting to differentiate instruction and use a mastery-based approach so that students can be at different places at different times--working on different workshops or at different stages of the same workshop. It is very difficult to use the current workshop module in this way. It would be great if the module could be made asynchronous, as suggested here: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=233263
