      Hello,

There is no meta description tag in quite a lot of pages of Moodle.

The meta description tag is very important when considering SEO (search engine optimization). A site or a page without a meta description tag will drop down in a search engine results page. Although the actual content of this tag is not relevant for a search engine, it presence is of paramount important for SEO and marketing reasons!

The meta description tag should be the actual description (one of the parameters) of the page.

This is important for the Moodle public pages so they can be indexed properly and efficiently by search engines.

For example, the standard theme includes the meta description tag for the home page, but it is absent at least for the course pages, the URL resource pages, and probably many more pages, resources and activities.

Is this not very clear for me if the issue is related solely to a particular theme or more generally to the Moodle core.

It is probably quite easy for an Moodle expert to correct this. It is just one line of code to be added to each kind of page! It's an unfortunate oversight!!
