The clear, pedagogical advantage of wikis in Moodle, is that their structure is arborial (branching). Students' brains work intuitively this way. As such, the wiki is also an advantageous tool for teachers to use when they generate 'individual'-type wikis.

At present, all Moodle wiki content is jettisoned when its courses are reset. There is no other tool in Moodle which presents information in the arborial way which Moodle wikis do. The 'Book' tool is linear (by chapter). The 'Lesson' tool depends on students making decisions to explore.

Given the usefulness of the wiki form, it would be a universally-chapioned improvement for 'Individually-made' Moodle wikis to be exportable.
