Set your site's automated backup config, to run manually and to skip backup if course is not modified (My home ► Site administration ► Courses ► Backups ► Automated backup setup)

Run php admin/cli/automated_backups.php and make sure no error is noticed and backups happen successfully.

Run the script again, and make sure all courses are skipped.

Login as admin and add a module in a course.

Run the script again and make sure all courses except the one just modified is skipped.

Run unit tests in admin/tool/log/store/legacy/tests/store_test.php and make sure they pass.
