if a course has several users which have been expired (not unenrolled) the assignment summary page still includes them along with the active users (those which appear on the 'participants' page.)
Replication: 'expire/ put an end date on enrolment' for several users and go to the assignment page. they will still be included in the 'count' (x submitted out of y
