When the number of attempts allowed for a question in a lesson is reached, the next page should be show according to the tooltip:

"Maximum number of attempts

This setting specifies the maximum number of attempts allowed for each question. If answered incorrectly repeatedly, when the maximum is reached, the next page of the lesson is displayed."

This is not the case as an unlimited number of attempts can be done if the retake question setting is set.
