Instead of the subscription dropdown defaulting to Send me email copies of posts to this forum we would like to change it to I don't want email copies of posts to this forum.

Students and staff are receiving numerous unwanted emails from this due to the fact that when students reply to a forum topic, the default is to automatically sign them up for emails. Most students are not aware of this choice and how to turn it off.

Is there a way to change that setting or change the code and if yes, can you tell me if this till an issue in the 1.5 codebase; since we are going the upgrade soon.
