We make extensive use of meta-courses in Moodle. In M1.9, the screen to assign child courses was easy to use - courses were listed alphabetically; you could search; and you could select multiple courses at once.

Assigning meta-links in Moodle 2.X is much more difficult - there is a single drop down box which is unordered; you can't search; and you can't select multiple courses. This makes creating a meta-course for a whole faculty (dozens of courses) a painfully long process.

We do not want to use cohorts, because our student management system automatically enrols users into courses. Using cohorts would mean a return to manual processes, or an expensive new development for our student management system.

Implementing the same type of interface for meta-links as was used in M1.9 would be a great improvement.
